Educational materials

The teacher prepares his lessons according to the curriculum. The teacher’s personal capacity, i.e. adequate knowledge of the subject, clear presentation as well as capability for skilled social mingling with the students, has a fundamental impact on the teaching methods chosen and the consistency of the material. Every teacher needs these basic skills to be able to ensure the high enough quality level of his teaching.

On the Internet, the teachers today can find plenty of materials which they can use when planning their teaching. They have been produced by various expert groups. These groups have received their instructions from the educational authorities whose duty it is to control that the goals set in the curriculum are reached. The expert groups consist mainly of teachers, equipment producers and other people who are familiar with practical aspects of teaching.

On the Internet, there are collections of ready-to-use teaching plans which the teacher can, of course, apply to meet the needs of his teaching. Many content providers have also made ready-to-use tests, material for self-studies, short teaching programmes and videos. By using various web browsers, the student can seek information on perceptions and wider entities. All websites usually provide links for more profound understanding and wider analysis of the topic.

This section consists of links which help to find some entities of educational materials from various sources. The collection of links is updated whenever possible. The amount of supply is not stabile: some firms get out of the market, new firms take their place on the market, single suppliers come and go. That is why it is not possible to maintain a valid list of references.

Some simple educational tools and materials may also be self-made. If the teacher participates in a course, which provides practical means for activating the students, he is likely to use that material in his work. He may be keen to make practical tasks and even motivate his students to bring out their own applications. These activities, if educational enough, help in reaching the aims set for the teaching.
